I personally find that managing Photo Galleries / Portfolios is best
done with a database and in your case, if you are locked in using Site
Grinder you may as well hand the maintenance over to your client - or
redo the site with a more customized approach.

SiteGrinder has incredible flexibility with galleries, but I don't
know of a way to include a content management system. You may need to
use a gallery building system that includes a CMS, and then have the
rest of the site's CMS in Cushy. SiteGrinder will indeed place each
photo on its own page unless you use the Flash slide show option, in
which case the client can swap in photos a little easier, but it's far
from goof proof. There are some posts in the SiteGrinder help forum
about slide shows and galleries.
